Photorejuvenation

Photorejuvenation harnesses the power of light to reverse the signs of aging, remove sunspots or other hyperpigmentation, and stimulate collagen production so that your skin is clearer, brighter, more even-toned and more youthful. The proof: most patients experience noticeable improvements after just one treatment.

Our spa team and providers offer four types of photorejuvenation treatments to treat everything from the tone and texture of your skin to precancerous lesions.

Our Four Types Of Treatment Offered

Photo/Light Therapy Treatments

This type of treatment uses light-based devices, sometimes referred to as non-ablative laser technology to help improve tone and texture, stimulate collagen production, lighten hyperpigmented (darker) areas, reduce redness, improve acne-prone skin and remove precancerous lesions, like actinic keratosis. This technology can also be used to help minimize the appearance of the tiny broken blood vessels commonly caused by rosacea.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) & Forever Young BBL™ Treatments

These two phototherapy treatments both use broad-based light (BBL) to correct sun damage and improve the appearance of pigmentation and vascular lesions, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots and other visible signs of aging on the body and face. Our team currently uses Sciton’s® Forever Young BBL as well as the Cutera® Limelight laser systems to achieve what we believe are the best results.

What should I expect from my phototherapy IPL/BBL® treatment?

As your medical provider passes intense pulsed light across the treated area, you’ll feel a sensation, described by some, like being ‘popped’ with rubber bands. After the treatment, ice packs may be applied to help relieve the tenderness and redness that occurs, similar to a mild sunburn. Over the next few days, you may notice the appearance of small darker flecks of pigmentation. This darker pigment has been broken up by the light and is coming to the surface of your skin, where it will flake off or fade away. A reduction in redness will also occur. And, in addition to little to no downtime, the youthful benefits of IPL/BBL treatments are a clearer, more even-toned skin, smoother texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles, and increased collagen production. IPL/BBL treatments can be scheduled 2 to 3 times per year for greater improvement and longer lasting effects.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Photo Facial & PiQO Pigment

Currently available at our Tucker, GA location only

Looking for a safe and effective way to get rid of that redness in your complexion, irregular pigmentation, large pores and fine lines? IPL & PiQo4 Rejuvenation combat the effects of aging and damaged skin in a softer, gentler way and can be used to treat the full face, neck, chest and hands. Each treatment delivers precise amounts of light energy through your skin’s surface to stimulate the production of new collagen. As this new collagen forms, it softens the appearance of aging skin – brown spots are reduced or eliminated, fine lines and wrinkles are decreased and for those with rosacea redness can be dramatically reduced.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Depending on the area treated, there will be a series of 5 – 8 treatments. Treatments usually take from 15 – 30 minutes. Treatments are usually spaced three weeks apart.

What Can I Expect When It Comes To Results?

After only one treatment, your skin will have a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will fade. Pore sizes will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment. Those with rosacea will typically see a progressive decrease in redness with every treatment.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

PDT treatments use a topical photosensitizing solution (Levulan®) combined with a light source to destroy precancerous lesions like actinic keratosis. PDT is also used to treat severe acne by eliminating bacteria that contribute to the condition. The treatment results in clearer, more even skin tone and texture.
