PRP actually comes from the serum portion of your blood, which contains platelets. These platelets contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors, which are very important for healing injuries, especially to the surface layers of the skin. In other words, the serum portion of our blood, hyper-concentrated with these growth factors, essentially becomes an energy booster for our skin. The results: an increase in everything from collagen and elastin production to delivering highly beneficial antioxidant and hydrating properties to our skin.

PRP is created from a person’s own blood and is a concentrated blend of plasma cells and specific growth factors. When injected into tissue, it bathes the cells to naturally stimulate the healing process. This advanced technique is often used by professional athletes who need to recover as quickly as possible, to help to reduce recovery time. As a regenerative technique that accelerates the body’s natural healing processes and in conjunction with microneedling, the treated area of skin can restore and rejuvenate for a firmer, more youthful texture and flexibility.

On the day of your procedure, our team will take a sample of your blood and then run it through a centrifuge here at the spa to separate the platelet-rich plasma from your blood. The PRP collected from your blood sample will then be applied topically and massaged into the treated area of skin following the completion of your treatment to promote recovery and new skin cell growth.

Radiofrequency provides heat that stimulates collagen production which has been found to lead to tighter, younger-looking skin. Combined with state-of-the-art microneedling, patients can achieve optimal results.

It usually takes about a day or two of downtime before you feel like returning to work or your normal routine, all depending on how aggressive your treatment was.

Because the depth of the needle can be adjusted to your individual needs, we find that most adults are good candidates for microneedling.
