Rachel E. Brooks, PA-C

Rachel earned her Master of Science in physician assistant studies from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Auburn University. Her previous experience includes working as a physician assistant for a multi-state dermatology group as well as an orthopedic practice, where she assisted with a wide variety of surgical procedures. Rachel’s depth of prior experience allows her to play an integral role on our team diagnosing and treating everything from common dermatological conditions to skin cancer as well as better educating our patients on caring for and protecting their skin. Rachel is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Harmony Church, PA-C

Harmony Church joined Dermatology Specialists of Florida in 2011. She holds a bachelor’s degree in physician assistant studies from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. Harmony has worked as a certified physician assistant, caring for North Florida patients in both plastic surgery and dermatology, since 2004. She is skilled in the delivery of cosmetic injectables, lasers and phototherapy, and is an experienced skin surgeon.

Angela earned her Master of Science in physician assistant studies from South University in Savannah, Georgia and holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Her experience includes working as a physician assistant in the Transplant Center at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, the emergency department at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, and another dermatology practice here in Florida. Angela takes great pride in assisting our physician team with Mohs surgery, treating precancerous lesions, providing comprehensive skin exams as well as diagnosing and treating a wide variety of general dermatological conditions for our patients. She is also highly skilled and knowledgeable in the use of laser treatments for tattoo removal, scar revision and skin resurfacing.

Megan received her Bachelor of Clinical Health Services and Physician Assistant certificate from the University of Washington School of Medicine, MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant Program. Prior to her PA education, she worked as a Medical Assistant and ABO-certified optician. She has extensive experience in treating patients with a wide range of dermatological conditions, including skin cancer, at several dermatology and primary care practices in Washington state before relocating back to her home state of Florida. Megan is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Amanda Day holds a master’s degree in medical science–physician assistant from Nova Southeastern University, and a bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Troy University.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. As a Wiregrass area native, Amanda joined Dermatology Specialists of Alabama with a passion for serving patients right here at home.

Sydney King Givens joined Dermatology Specialists of Alabama in 2017. She is a Dothan native and holds a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Latin American Studies. Sydney’s clinical experience includes general dermatology and plastic surgery. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Alabama Society of Physician Assistants.

Sarah Miller, MPH, PA-C

Sarah Miller is a certified physician assistant who received her Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MMSc-PA from Emory University’s School of Medicine Physician Assistant program. While at Emory, Sarah was one of two students that graduated with a dual-degree (PA/MPH) from Rollins School of Public Health in addition to her physician assistant studies. During her time at Emory, Sarah was a Global Health Institute Field Scholar, which allowed her to conduct public health research abroad in Ethiopia. Sarah is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed by the Georgia Composite Medical Board.

Sarah comes from a background of extensive training and experience from Emory University. Prior to joining the field of dermatology, she worked in internal medicine. Through her experience in internal medicine, she was exposed to various dermatologic disease processes and diagnoses and became very passionate about dermatology. Sarah is a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) as well as Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants (GDPA).

Sarah has a strong desire to not only provide outstanding individualized care to her patients, but also educate her patients about their health and long-term prevention methods. Her devotion to helping others is emphasized through her extensive volunteer and research commitments.

Interestingly, Sarah worked abroad on health projects in Peru and Honduras prior to continuing her education at Emory. Sarah is originally from North Carolina and now resides in Atlanta with her husband, Joey, and their wonderful chocolate labs.

Ariel Perry joined Dermatology Specialists of Florida in 2016.  She holds her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and a bachelor’s degree from UF in microbiology and cell science. Ariel has been a practicing certified physician assistant since 2014 and has clinical experience in cardiology, electrophysiology and dermatology.

Sandy Singleton, MSN, FNP-C

Sandy is a family nurse practitioner who received her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing from the University of North Georgia. She graduated at the top of her class, and she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nurse Practitioners. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Sandy joined the practice with an extensive knowledge base that she has acquired in her 19+ years in the public health setting. She recognizes the need for patient education in dermatologic health and enjoys passing her knowledge and experience on to patients.

She has a strong desire to make a positive impact on the health of others. Sandy is a native of Ellijay, Georgia where she and her family currently live. Sandy assists the community with cosmetic and medical dermatology. She has a proven record that allows patients to feel comfortable and confident in her medical judgement and skill set.

Amy Ward is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree. She also competed the intensive Surgeon’s Assistant Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham earning a Bachelor of Science degree to support her passion for assisting with surgical procedures. Amy has more than 20 years of extensive surgical and operating room experience, including skin cancer excision and MOHS micrographic surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery.

She works closely with patients during their initial evaluations and diagnosis through treatment and follow up making sure every question is answered, and any concern addressed. Amy is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Kristi Wells, PA-C

Kristi Wells graduated from Tulane University with a double major in biology and psychology before going on to earn her master’s from the University of Florida’s Physician Assistant Program in 2003. She joined our practice in 2011 from Jacksonville, Florida, where she was working in Wolfson’s neonatal intensive care unit.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Amy West has more than 15 years of experience as a physician assistant working in family medicine, acute care, and pediatrics, as well as, three years instructing health care professionals. She joined Dermatology Specialists of Florida in 2016 bringing with her extensive surgical and operating room experience. Amy earned her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in addition to earning a master’s in education and policy studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

She is a member of the Florida Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Amy is also proud to have served our country for 25 years in the United States Air Force.
