Aesthetician Spotlight: Joni Hayes, Jacksonville, Florida

A little make-up goes a long way for trick-or-treat!

I’ve always had a love for skin and a thirst for knowledge about skin care. I studied at Nova Academy of Cosmetology in Rochester, Minnesota and gained great experience at a prestigious medical spa while living there.

After deciding that Minnesota was just too cold, I moved to Florida and joined Aqua Medical Spa in February of 2016. I have two beautiful and amazing children and two goofy dogs that keep me busy outside of work. We enjoy camping and hiking, and try to take as many weekend trips to Florida parks as possible. We also stay busy with school and extracurricular activities, like band, horseback riding, softball, soccer, baseball and more.

When it comes to skin care, I can’t stress enough how important having a daily regimen is, and how critical it is to make sure you’re using the right products for your skin. Once you have that, monthly visits to your favorite aesthetician are an added bonus. I am also a big fan of monthly exfoliation treatments to enhance your skin care regimen. The big plus, they can be varied and customized for anyone’s skin needs and skin condition.

Here at the med spa, we carry so many great products that it’s hard for me to nail down all of my favorites. But, I’ll try! Latisse for lashes is up there, and we all know great lashes always get noticed. As we age our lashes thin and aren’t as noticeable, but with Latisse, we can make your natural lashes longer and fuller. And, when it comes to healthy glowing skin, I’m a big fan of TNS Essential Serum, since it has everything you need (growth factors, vitamins, antioxidants), and it’s a great anti-aging serum. The last one I’ll share is Retin-A, which for me is a must for most care regimens. Remember, talk to your aesthetician about what products will work best for you and your skin. And as always, I’d be happy to sit and have an individual consultation with you!

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
